Who We Are

Located in the ancestral Tewa homelands of Northern New Mexico, Tewa Women United is a multicultural and multiracial organization founded and led by Native women. The name “Tewa Women United” comes from the Tewa words wi don gi mu which can be translated as “we are one” in mind, heart, and in the spirit of love for all.

Journey of Generosity

Our 30th anniversary is a time to reflect on our beginnings and honor our elders, to envision our future, and to invite our community — you — to help strengthen our capacity to do this work for the next 30 years and beyond, led by new generations of powerful Indigenous women and their allies.
