Frijoles Fire Resource Page
Many of our community members are being affected by the Frijoles Fire, which started on August 4 and as of August 18 has burned more than 12,000 acres.
We’ve put together this resource list to support those impacted by the fire, as well as those who wish to help in some way. We are aware how important it is to access accurate information during times like this, so websites and apps have been vetted for the quality of their information.

Looking for ways to support our firefighters and community? We have received many generous inquiries about how to help those affected by the fire. Thank you for your continued support of our firefighters, first responders, and the community.
Our firefighters are well equipped and provided with meals, water, and essential supplies. At this time, the most effective ways to help are:
Support the American Red Cross evacuation center at the Pojoaque Valley Middle School. Please contact the organization directly to confirm current needs before donating physical items.- Create defensible space around your home. This is one of the most important actions you can take to improve firefighter safety and help protect your property.
- Show your appreciation by posting thank-you signs in the community, sharing messages of support on social media, or writing thank-you notes for firefighters.
- Consider making a financial donation to a trusted organization such as:
- Your local fire department
- Wildland Firefighter Foundation
- American Red Cross
- Humane Society
- United Way – Northern New Mexico
- McCurdy Ministries
Please do not bring food, baked goods, clothing, or other supplies directly to fire camp. Due to federal safety and food handling requirements, these items cannot be accepted.
Financial contributions to recognized organizations are the most effective way to support firefighters and the community, allowing assistance to be directed where it is needed most. Thank you again for your generosity, kindness, and continued support.
