Herbal Medicine Workshop Series: Part I with Chasity Salvador

June 20, 2022 – June 20, 2022
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Tewa Women United offers this four-workshop series as an invitation to come together to learn how to take care of ourselves with herbal medicine while understanding the need to give back to the herbs and their systems of living. As we face ongoing challenges to our health from COVID-19, smoke from wildfires, and changes to our environment seasonally, this traditional knowledge is more important than ever.

These workshops are open to everyone who wishes to learn how to take care of their health through the holistic approach of herbal medicine. Each workshop will focus on different parts of the body while using different remedies. Participants don’t need any prior knowledge of herbal medicine.

Workshop I, June 20th, 5 pm MST
Respiratory Health with Chasity Salvador

Chasity will teach us how to make a medicinal tea for healthy respiratory health. We will learn about the different herbs that help build lung capacity, which herbs dry the lungs, and which herbs moisten the lungs. We will learn the intricacies of our unique body’s constituency, the energetics of lung health and illness, and how to take care of our lungs during wildfires. We will also learn how to make a gumweed (Grindelia) syrup/honey that has aided Chasity in her Long COVID recovery. We will share and talk about the importance of our lungs and the importance of being in connection with how herbs that have virtues in helping us with our lungs are also impacted by climate crisis, and ways we can give back to their livelihoods.
