Happy planting season, relatives! Tewa Women United’s Environmental Justice Program invites you to join us in celebrating the new growing season at the Española Healing Foods Oasis — this will be our 8th year of opening the garden in beloved community!
Starting at 9 am, we will gather to extend our gratitude and blessings over the Española Healing Foods Oasis as we journey into the coming months of tending, harvesting, and sharing all the garden’s gifts. Tewa Women United’s Environmental Health & Justice staff and our garden caretakers will lead attendees in a planting workshop of beans, corn, squash and medicinal herbs in our rainwater-harvesting spiral gardens.
We are also excited to host a herbal medicine workshop alongside our plantings, to share recipes and practices for creating herbal salves and hydrosols to support farmers and gardeners.
All tools and materials will be supplied, as well as breakfast and refreshments.

How to find the Española Healing Foods Oasis: The garden is located behind Española City Hall (405 N Paseo de Onate) on the slope leading down to Valdez Park. Parking is available at the Española Public Library/Lucero Center lot, or on Vietnam Veterans Memorial Road adjacent to the park.
