It’s peak season at the Espanola Healing Foods Oasis, and the perfect time to celebrate and learn about the plant relatives who call it home! Join TWU Environmental Health and Justice Coordinator Kayleigh Warren for a native plant walk at the Healing Foods Oasis. This is an opportunity to ask questions and learn about native plants, their ecology, their medicinal and edible properties, and most importantly, how we can protect and grow them. We will visit plants throughout the garden, and potentially learn to harvest some of the edible native fruits.
Bring a hat, close toed shoes, water, and all of your plant questions! Water and hydrating snacks will be provided.
HOW TO FIND THE GARDEN:
The EHFO is located behind the Española City Hall (405 N Paseo De Onate), on the slope leading down to Valdez Park. Parking is available at the Española Public Library/Lucero Center lot, or on Vietnam Veterans Memorial Road adjacent to the park.
